Let’s face it, we’re all busy and sometimes we can lose track of the big picture. Planning takes time and commitment, but we don’t always have to wait for the annual strategic planning meeting to take action.
Here are three steps you can take this week that’ll get your brain turning and lead to short term action. Think through the overall operation of your business and ask yourself these things;
1. What processes are you doing that absolutely need to continue?
These are vital to your business. They are running well. The results are exactly what you want them
2. What processes are running but could be doing much better?
These are the kind you can’t live without but getting them done seems to suck the life out of your business soul.
3. Lastly, what are the things you’re doing that leave you asking, “Why? Why? Why?”
Sometimes figuring out what you should stop doing is the hardest but most rewarding thing you can do for your business.
Find the things you can stop doing first and stop! Take a breather and celebrate the things you’re doing well. Then get to work improving the rest. It’s easier said than done, but getting started is often the tough part. Now let’s
get at it!
