It#s actually just getting started as the Georgia Force kicks off the Arena Football League in early February.
The Georgia Force is entering its third season of play as they welcome the Eastern Division Champion New York Dragons on Feb. 8 to their home field, the Arena at Gwinnett Center. Coming off a strong season last year, the Force won a record eight games and advanced to the Quarterfinal Round of the playoffs for the first time in team history.
This year, the team is hopeful for even better results as the Force has signed nine free agents who are experienced veterans of the National Football League. The Force has reached contract agreements with the following players:
Wide Receiver/ Linebacker- Lavell Boyd
Offensive/ Defensive Lineman- Shannon Clavelle
Offensive/ Defensive Lineman- Shane Grice
Offensive/ Defensive Lineman- Reggie Grimes
Offensive Specialist- Detronn Harris
Wide Receiver/ Defensive Back- Eric Joyce
Fullback/ Linebacker- Tavarreus Pounds
Quarterback- Kevin Thompson
Offensive/ Defensive Lineman- Gillis Wilson
Team owner Virgil Williams and the administrative and coaching staff for the Force have planned an exciting season for fans off the field with tailgating opportunities and interactive pre-game fan events. Force players will even remain on the field for 30 minutes after each game for autograph sessions.
