g2g2016-Hospitals-gridGwinnett residents have excellent access to the highest quality of medical care, starting with the county’s two major hospital systems — Gwinnett Medical Center and Eastside Medical Center.

GMC is a 553-bed, not-for-profit healthcare network that provides a wide array of high-quality services and facilities, with hospitals in Lawrenceville (main campus) and Duluth, plus specialty centers in Hamilton Mill, Johns Creek, Snellville, and Sugar Hill. Gwinnett Medical Center offers health and treatment plans for more than a hundred different illnesses and diseases.

Eastside Medical Center is a 310-bed, multi-campus system of care offering comprehensive medical and surgical programs including cardiovascular, neurosciences, oncology, orthopedics, rehabilitation, maternity with neonatal intensive care, behavioral health and bariatric. Located in Snellville, Eastside also has specialty centers and facilities in Loganville, Conyers, Dacula and Duluth.

Gwinnett is also served by Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta (CHOA), a nationally recognized pediatric healthcare center that includes the AFLAC Cancer Center. CHOA’s main campus is located in Dunwoody, but it operates seven locations in the Gwinnett area, ranging from urgent care services to children’s cardiac care.

There are several hospital systems located just outside of Gwinnett who serve residents, including Northeast Georgia Medical Center, Northside – Forsyth Hospital, and DeKalb Medical Center.

Northeast Georgia Health System (NGHS), a not-for-profit system, recently opened a new 100-bed, 119-acre campus in Braselton to serve patients in a closer location than its main campus in Gainesville. Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Braselton offers heart services, vascular services, orthopedics, neurosciences, cancer treatment, surgery, emergency services, obstetrical services and NICU care.

Part of the Northside Hospital Healthcare System, Northside Hospital-Forsyth offers a full range of services including cancer care and radiation oncology, cardiology, ophthalmology, gynecology, bariatric surgery and a stroke center, to name just a few. Northside-Forsyth is a not-for-profit hospital.

DeKalb Medical Center serves patients from three hospitals, DeKalb Medical Main, Hillandale and downtown Decatur. A not-for-profit system, DeKalb Medical Center offers a comprehensive array of services and specialties and also has a number of physician groups located within Gwinnett County.
