Gwinnett County Parks and Recreation Receives Awards

The Georgia Recreation and Park Association (GRPA), District 7 held its annual banquet on Oct. 26, in Roswell to recognize the many talented and hardworking members in the parks and recreation industry.

The Volunteer Award was presented to Liberty Mutual for their Serve with Liberty program that provides assistance and resources to Gwinnett County Parks and Recreation (GCPR) on volunteer workdays. The Serve with Liberty program is Liberty Mutual Insurance’s employee community service program.

For the past 4 years, this program has averaged 70 volunteers per year completing 450 hours of service moving mulch, trimming trails, picking up trash, planting flowers, cleaning playgrounds, enhancing parks and more.

GRPA also presented the prestigious Distinguished Program Professional Award to Pam Hoffman for her commitment to excellence and extensive involvement in the community for the last 26 years. The Parks and Outdoor Professional Award was presented to John Rowe for being an outstanding member of the conservation park district.
