Charles Medlin”s own experiences drive his passion for the law.

“The personal challenge of surviving and successfully navigating a difficult divorce at a young age, switching careers, and living away from my child all changed the course of my life, challenging me,” Medlin shares. “There”s nothing like having to start over.”

Medlin and his top-notch team at Bovis, Kyle, Burch & Medlin keep focus on relevant legal issues, guiding clients away from activities counter productive to goals for dissolving a marriage, negotiating custody of children, dividing property or managing debt. As a result, they resolve 80 percent of his cases out of court in mediation.

“Working with opposing counsel to arrive at mutually acceptable resolutions often results in a healthier family at the end of this journey, giving them hope for a brighter day ahead,” he says. However, in the courtroom, Medlin”s team has also established themselves as well-prepared and zealous advocates.

The firm”s warm environment is a direct reflection of the team”s caring nature. Each has an excellent pedigree from their education to specialized skills training. A UNC and Duke honor graduate, Medlin chooses each for the unique qualities that make them interesting as people – people who can relate to a diversity of personalities and situations. These individuals deliver a premier legal product, coming from backgrounds in mock trial, debate, and law review.

Medlin has cultivated a solid reputation within the Gwinnett County judicial system. His firm has offices in Cumming and the Perimeter area. Whether giving assistance through divorce and custody litigation or alternative dispute resolution outside of court, clients have strong and experienced advocates by their sides.

At Bovis, Kyle, Burch & Medlin, clients benefit from sound legal advice, a team approach to discovery and preparation, and above all, a connection with people working first for the best interests of the family.

“I learned from the best – my Dad, who worked hard, was enthusiastic and never met a stranger,” confides Medlin. “I uncover ways to relate to my clients, opposing counsel, and judges. I find it rewarding to care for and assist others going through personal crises – both through the role of peacemaker and when required, serving as a gladiator for my clients.”
