Upcoming Tournament Puts Spotlight on Gwinnett
Picture the perfect morning for golf. The sun rises, dawn light spreading across clear, blue skies. Rays catch the lake surface, sparkling. You breathe in the fresh air.
Imagine waking up every morning to this idyllic scene. There are many communities around Gwinnett that are surrounded by such. Many of them hold special tournaments throughout the year.
One of the most notable: the Greater Gwinnett Championship at TPC Sugarloaf. The event this year is scheduled for April 14-20, featuring 2013 Champion Bernhard Langer who will defend his title in the upcoming event.
The 54-hole stroke play tournament will feature 81 Champions Tour professionals competing for a $1.8 million purse at the prestigious TPC Sugarloaf.
All three rounds of the Greater Gwinnett Championship will be televised nationally by Golf Channel, and proceeds will benefit local charities through the Gwinnett Championship Foundation, Inc.
Other golf courses in Gwinnett also have events and promotions throughout the year. Many of them also have homes available to purchase near the courses.
