Our Story: The Gwinnett Village Community Improvement District (CID) is a voluntary self taxing district that focuses on improving the Norcross area near I-85. The CID was formed in 2006 by commercial property owners wanting to increase property values within the district.
How We Help: Our mission is to increase property values by focusing on crime reduction initiatives, traffic congestion relief, planning and visioning for redevelopment, and overall improvement to the curb appeal of the area.
Problems We Solve: We bring a focus for improvement which unites the community through crime reduction measures, traffic relief and curb appeal. This allows business to grow and thrive within the district.
Results We Deliver: The CID area has seen double digit crime reduction every year since 2006, traffic congestion reduced by 50 percent and a CID investment of $10 million leveraged to over $27.5 million in construction funds for improvements in the area.
What Makes Us Unique: In an economic downturn, the CID commercial property owners have agreed to pay more revenue in order to improve the area. This commitment and investment for the future has begun to pay off with new businesses opening monthly.
What”s Next: I see a bright economic future for the I-85 corridor in Gwinnett County. Signs of life in real estate investment, expansion of business and new relocations are evident on a monthly basis.
