Instead of a staycation this season, why not enjoy a vacation to one of the Southeast”s hottest destinations? Just past Georgia”s border, there are a host of family adventures for parents and children to enjoy that are both easy on the wallet and the eyes.

Asheville, North Carolina
Many may be familiar with Asheville because of the famous Biltmore Estates, a National Historic Landmark and George Vanderbilt”s luxurious home. With more than 8,000-acres to explore, this property offers self-guided tours through the Biltmore House and Gardens, as well as the new Antler Hill Village. The village is an extension of the Biltmore experience with great food, shopping and historical exhibits.

If you”re an outdoor enthusiast at heart, Asheville can also entertain you from down in the ground to high in the sky. Deep inside North Carolina”s Humpback Mountain, the wonder of nature comes alive at Linville Caverns. Experienced guides take visitors on a tour of the caverns to discover its age-old beauty and detailed history. Up in the sky, Chimney Rock at Chimney Rock State Park is the one of the oldest (535-million-year-old – to be exact) and most iconic sites in the state. From top of its rock cliff, you can see a 75-mile panoramic view of Hickory Nut Gorge and Lake Lure.
