Riverside Military Academy, an all-boys college preparatory school serving boarding and day students in grades 7-12, is hosting an open house for parents and potential cadets on Sunday, June 5, from 1:30 to 6 p.m.

The open house will introduce families to the beautiful 206-acre campus that sits upon the shores of Lake Sidney Lanier, along with its extraordinary dormitories, academic and athletic facilities. Potential cadets will have the opportunity to view a wide range of interactive displays, meet with teachers and visit with current cadets to get insight on what life is like at Riverside Military Academy. Boys come from across the country eager to attend this educational experience that introduces them to a whole new family – a brotherhood.

If you”re looking for your son to preview Riverside Military Academy”s campus life, the school offers a four-week Summer Opportunity and Academic Review (nicknamed S.O.A.R.) for boys” grades 7-11 to experience life both inside and outside the classroom.

With 17 courses available, summer cadets will strengthen their academic skills for the upcoming school year with challenging courses and small size classes for individualized attention. While each student is encouraged to reach his maximum potential, supervised evening study halls with Riverside Military Academy staff will be available to provide a structured study environment.

Summer cadets will also benefit from Georgia”s sunny summers with recreational activities taking place at the campus athletic facilities. As a vital part of the S.O.A.R. program, cadets will have the opportunity to learn the basic skills in marksmanship, rappelling, rock climbing, airsoft, swimming and much more.

S.O.A.R. 2011 is scheduled for June 20 – July 16. All summer attendees are required to enroll for the complete four-week program. Classes meet for three hours in the morning and three hours in the afternoon for a total of 120 contact hours. A $250 non-refundable deposit for S.O.A.R. is requested for admission, which will be applied toward tuition, if enrolled. S.O.A.R. applicants must submit the required academic admissions application prior to submission of the S.O.A.R. registration form.
