Emily Brantley
Founder & President

Growing up in a small town in North Carolina, Emily Brantley knew exactly what she wanted to be when she grew up – a lawyer, like her best friend Betsy Griffin”s dad.# “At the end of the day, Mr. Griffin would come home and tell us stories about his day in court. They were mostly stories that had happy endings about the ways he helped his clients. When I was out with the Griffins, I”d see the way people treated him. He was loved and respected, and I wanted to be like Mr. Griffin. I wanted to be a lawyer.”#

Now, with a successful practice in civil law and a run for State Court Judge this summer, Brantley says, “I”ve never regretted my choice. As lawyers, we”re given a golden opportunity to help our fellow man. There is nothing more fulfilling than to know you”ve made a difference in the life of another person – to give them a better tomorrow.”#

Most lawyers, believes Brantley, love something bigger than themselves – truth and justice. “We are asked to find that for our clients – All people are equal in the eyes of the law. I believe that.# Our justice system, while not perfect, is the best in the world. That system is not just books or laws – it”s people. When the system works as it was intended, that”s exciting to me.”#

“Ten years ago, I represented a client who”d suffered a catastrophic injury and was left in a wheelchair. At trial, I made my opening statement and sat down beside him. When court recessed, he told me “If I could have stood before the jury, my words would have been no different than yours. You are my voice and you believe in me.# No matter the outcome, I”m grateful.” “That feedback, says Brantley, says it all. “I am their voice. What a privilege.”#
