“Golf is a game that is played on a five-inch course – the distance between your ears,” says Bobby Jones, co-founder of Augusta National and the Masters Tournament. It is a deceptively simple sport that tests strength of the mind, not the body. For centuries, golf has captivated those who take pleasure in relentlessly practicing morning after morning, year after year, only to realize that they may never be one of the few to truly master the game.

A group of 81 Champions Tour professionals looking to prove they’re the best will assemble at TPC Sugarloaf on April 13-19 for the Greater Gwinnett Championship.

The nationally televised event presented by Mitsubishi Electric Cooling and Heating will feature a 54-hole stroke play tournament that will conclude with one winner taking home a $1.8 million purse.

Proceeds from the event will benefit local charities through the Gwinnett Championship Foundation, Inc., including Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and the Gwinnett Medical Center Foundation. Since its inception in 2013, the Greater Gwinnett Championship has raised $344,061 for charity.

Prior to the three-day tournament, Matt Ryan will host the Celebrity-AM Classic. On Monday, April 13, the Falcons quarterback, along with numerous other celebrities will play in a golf tournament to raise funds for the Aflac Cancer Center of Children’s Healthcare and the Matt Ryan Foundation
