The sports writer-turned-entrepreneur formed Batten Communications, which has grown to produce not only the “Gwinnett Prep Rally” show but also a variety of programs about high school sports in other counties, college baseball and a tennis series called MatchPoint Atlanta. Gwinnett Prep Rally, like the sports it covers, draws excellent support from the business community, too. Brand Bank, for example, sponsors a “Team Leader of the Week” segment.
