Wealth HorizonJerr## Hewett, CFP#, CFDP has a passion for public service and empowering women with the knowledge to move forward through life”s transitions successfully. Therefore, it seemed like fate when she discovered a career in financial planning and investment advisory.

“I was introduced to the financial industry in 1992 after a 10-year career in the apparel industry. I was looking for something a bit more challenging and a friend recommended that I consider financial planning,”# says Hewett. “During my introduction to the industry, I realized I really enjoyed the field and I quickly obtained my Certified Financial Planner”# designation.”#

With a goal to be independent and provide unbiased advice to her clients, Hewett opened her own boutique financial planning firm, Wealth Horizon, in 1998. The firm currently serves about 100 families and encompasses eight different states.

Hewett helps women build the confidence to move forward by embracing their financial situation, easing their fear and mystery of the unknown. “Many of my clients have never been involved in their family”s finances. We simplify the process and provide them with insight to guide them through their financial maze.”#

One of the unique services the firm offers clients is a secure wealth management website. This website digitally stores every aspect of a client”s financial life from photos of assets in homes, to copies of tax returns and other legal documents like wills and passports. “This is the place I create living, breathing financial plans for my clients,”# Hewett says. “The information updates nightly with market close data. This is one tool I use to help teach people about investing.”#

However, Wealth Horizon isn”t only about crunching numbers, Hewett truly cares about her clients and their families. Clients are attracted to the firm because of the personal relationships built and advice given by Hewett and her staff to each individual.

“Finances are a very emotional topic for all of us, so a lot of what we do involves providing support through the difficult aspects of the transition process. With someone going through a divorce or the death of a spouse, we”re careful to be patient and not push someone into making any decisions, even if it”s working with us, until they”re ready,”# she says. “I do the right thing for my clients and referrals and it comes back to me tenfold.”#

Hewett”s achievements in the financial industry haven”t gone unnoticed. Wealth Horizon was recently named in the Gwinnett Chamber”s 2013 Pinnacle Small Business Top 25. Hewett has also been invited to attend the past six Barron”s Magazine Winners Circle for Top Female Advisors Summit, an invitation only event for the top 500 women advisors in the country.

In addition, Hewett is an advocate for her community. Wealth Horizon is a champion of women”s causes and hosts the annual “Celebrating Wonderful Women” event each fall. In 2012, Wealth Horizon honored Aimee Copeland at the 7th annual event with a fundraiser for Wellspring Living, an Atlanta nonprofit dedicated to helping young female victims of human trafficking to transition back into mainstream society. Hewett is very enthusiastic about this event and the role this platform plays in making a difference in the lives of others.

“I have lived such a blessed life. My work is my passion and I feel like I must give back. It”s my mission in life.”#
