Meadowcreek High School recently finished updating its media center to accommodate 21st century learners. The renovations include four glass study rooms, two collaboration stations, a glass enclosed instructional area, and new furniture. The library also now has node chairs that allow students to work cooperatively in groups.
Students love the space and many have told me that it makes them want to come to the media center more often, said Cicely Lewis, Meadowcreek High School media specialist. It is an inviting space that promotes collaboration. Desktop computers have been removed and students are now using laptops, Kindles, and tablets to complete assignments. Our principal, Dr. Tommy Welch, supports the media program and has worked hard to implement all of these changes.
