School is nearing the end, and not only is the weather heating up, but so is the Norcross events and music scene. Downtown Norcross is pleased to announce its exciting lineup of summertime events including Food Trucks and Film Night on May 14; the Summer Concert Series beginning on May 27; a Memorial Day Celebration featuring the 313th Army Brass Quintet Band and Guest Speaker Major Nelson Ramos, retired, US Army, on May 30; the BluesBerry Music and Beer Festival on June 18; Red White and Boom on July 3; and Jazz in the Alley beginning on July 16. Join historic Norcross this summer in grooving to 80Â’s music, singing along to Jimmy Buffet tunes and swaying to cool jazz. All concerts are free and local restaurants are happy to create the perfect picnic for concert and event goers.
“We are thrilled to offer our citizens and friends of Norcross a celebration of summer through these events and a fantastic concert series,” said City of Norcross Mayor Bucky Johnson. “We invite everyone to come out and enjoy the creative energy of our city.”
The Summer Concert Series kicks off on Friday, May 27 and continues thru September in Thrasher Park. Jazz in the Alley returns once again on July 16 as they transform Betty Mauldin Park into a street party with a funky vibe for four great concerts into October.
On June 18, the BluesBerry Music and Beer Festival will be held in Betty Mauldin Park and Jones St. from 4 p.m. – 10 p.m. Your mood will surely lighten with the lineup of blues musicians set to entertain into the evening. Don’t forget to look for Norcross’ downtown merchants and restaurants that will be creating signature “BluesBerry” cocktails, desserts, specials and more!
