The Gwinnett Technical College is pleased to announce the addition of Stephen A. Nadeau, Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer for Gwinnett Medical Center to the Colleges distinguished Board of Directors.
Steve Nadeau, SPHR, came to Gwinnett in 1988 as vice president, Human Resources for Gwinnett Medical Center. He has gained responsibilities as the hospital system has grown and currently serves as the senior vice president and chief human resources officer. Previously, Nadeau worked for National Healthcare Inc., a for-profit hospital company specializing in management of small community hospitals. There, he served as hospital administrator, hospital group assistant and employee relations director. Earlier in his career, Nadeau served as a program director of Community Mental Health programs for the Alabama Department of Mental Health. He holds both undergraduate and graduate degrees from Auburn University, as well as a certification of Senior Professional Human Resources (SPHR).
Additionally, the Gwinnett Tech Foundation is pleased to announce the election of Russell Smith, President & CEO of RTS Associates, LLC; Elizabeth Van Tassell, Southeast Area Human Resource Manager of WestRock; and Kent Davies, Retired Vice President of World Financial Group to the Foundations Board of Trustees. Smith, Van Tassell and Davies will join the Board of Trustees in their work to advance support and funding for Gwinnett Technical College’s program and facilities, student scholarships, and faculty and staff development.
Russell Smith’s telecom career began as a BellSouth co-op while attending Georgia Institute of Technology as a Presidents Scholar. His industry knowledge developed through the 1990’s as Russell had a number of engineering, software development and managerial positions for several telecom companies. These experiences were essential as he founded RTS Associates in 1998.Headquartered in Gwinnett, RTS offices are located throughout Georgia.
Elizabeth Van Tassell, PHR, SHRM-CP is a progressive leader and functional HR business partner with 13 years manufacturing and logistics experience. She is a designated professional in Human Resources, certified professional in the Society of Human Resources Management, strategic business partner, change agent, and employee champion. She is currently responsible for general management, strategic planning, and fulfillment of all HR services, including safety initiatives and education for multiple manufacturing plants located in Georgia, Florida, and Puerto Rico.
Kent Davies, a licensed Life, Accident & Health Agent and Securities Registered Representative, recently retired after a successful career with World Financial Group. As Vice President of World Financial Group, he worked with large financial service sales forces in both the USA & Canada. As President of the WFG Foundation, he headed up fundraising efforts, operations & grant distribution to help serve those in need across the world. Davies’ career also included time as Division Manager for GNC/DCI in which he was responsible for 1800 franchises & 30 company units and as VP of Operations for over 100 restaurants.
