Chuck Warbington Named Lawrenceville City Manager

Lawrenceville’s elected City Council members have cast their vote and officially chosen Chuck Warbington to fill the position of City Manager.

A life-long resident of Gwinnett County, Warbington is a graduate of Georgia Tech where he received a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.  He comes to the City of Lawrenceville from the Gwinnett Village Community Improvement District (CID) where he served as the Executive Director for 10 years.

“The City Council is very pleased with the choice of Chuck Warbington as Lawrenceville’s new City Manager,” said Mayor Judy Jordan Johnson. “We look forward to the ideas and developments he will bring to the City.”

Warbington began leadership of the Gwinnett Village in January 2006, spearheading the efforts in forming the largest Community Improvement District in Georgia. As a graduate of Leadership Gwinnett, he serves the community through a variety of capacities that include the Gwinnett Clean & Beautiful Board of Directors, the Gwinnett Chamber, and the Fort Daniel Historical Foundation. He currently serves as the Chairman of the Redevelopment Task Force, Chairman of the Gwinnett County Planning Commission, President of Partnership Gwinnett PFE and also a member of the Quantum National Bank Board of Directors.

“I am eager to begin my new role with the City of Lawrenceville and continue the City’s community and economic efforts,” said Chuck Warbington. “I am truly excited about building upon the tremendous assets in the City and looking forward to continuing the groundwork laid by Mr. Baroni in serving the needs of our residents, businesses and investors alike.”

Warbington will be stepping into the position as former City Manager, Robert ‘Bob’ Baroni, retires from 42 years of government service with the City. Warbington and Baroni will work together with City leaders to transition responsibilities over the next couple of months.
