Clark Patterson Lee Celebrates Expansion of Regional Headquarters in Gwinnett

Clark Patterson Lee, leading experts in architecture, engineering and planning, joined Gwinnett Economic Development and Gwinnett County Government today to announce the grand opening of their expanded regional headquarters in the City of Suwanee, Gwinnett County, metro Atlanta, Georgia.

Clark Patterson Lee’s (CPL) 7,548-square-foot regional headquarters is strategically located at 3011 Sutton Gate Drive, in the Suwanee Gateway One building. This location, at the intersection of I-85 and Lawrenceville Suwanee Road, underwent a $400,000 renovation and includes flexible workspace, as well as a showroom.

“Clark Patterson Lee has enjoyed being a part of the Gwinnett County/City of Suwanee community and has been an active member of the Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce for 27 years,” said Kevin McOmber, Senior Vice President for CPL. “We are excited to establish our new home in the Suwanee Gateway One building and we are very thankful for our amazing clients and talented staff that deliver our services every day.”

This announcement represents CPL’s fourth expansion in the city of Suwanee, and is a necessary next step in the fast paced growth they are experiencing. CPL has recently added a landscape architect, civil engineer, planner, code official and a marketing coordinator to the Suwanee office. They have 260 employees in four states including, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and New York, and plans for a 5-10% annual expansion in their Suwanee office over the next five years. CPL is one of more than 70 engineering, architecture and planning firms that call Gwinnett County home.

“Our team at the Georgia Department of Economic Development is excited about Clark Patterson Lee’s expansion,” said Georgia Department of Economic Development Director of Existing Industry and Retention, Lindsay Martin. “We have great economic development partners in Gwinnett County, and we believe this venture will simply add to a growing and highly successful business-friendly community.”

“It is no surprise that Clark Patterson Lee is choosing to expand their regional headquarters in Gwinnett,” said Gwinnett County Commission Chair, Charlotte Nash. “With access to a skilled workforce and significant infrastructure, companies like Clark Patterson Lee are able to successfully grow and expand their business with confidence.”

CPL endorses a culture of sustainability, both within its office, and as a part of its design philosophy. Suwanee Gateway One is a LEED Silver building, which is a sustainable achievement that is consistent with CPL’s viewpoint on smart development.

“We’re extremely proud that a thriving organization such as Clark Patterson Lee has chosen to expand in Suwanee,” said City of Suwanee Mayor Jimmy Burnette. “CPL’s growth over the last 40 years has been remarkable, and they are valuable assets to our community.”

CPL has been providing expertise in architecture, engineering, planning and construction administration for over 40 years and has a reputation of award winning success. Engineering News-Record (ENR) listed CPL in the top 500 engineering firms in the Nation for 2014 and 2015. In 2014, CPL was listed in the top 50 of the top architectural firms in the Nation and listed in Architectural Record’s top 300 architecture firms.

“Kevin McOmber and the entire CPL team are a trusted firm, well known in the region for their high quality of work,” said Nick Masino, Senior Vice President of Economic Development and Partnership Gwinnett. “I am honored to congratulate them on their growth.”
