“One of the most effective ways to reduce crime is to educate residents about safety and how to protect themselves and their property,” said Corporal Eric Rooks, crime prevention officer. “We offer multiple crime prevention and safety classes and programs year-round, and we also sponsor events to help build bridges between police and the people we serve.”
Community Oriented Police Service (C.O.P.S.) is like a Neighborhood Watch program where people keep an eye out for potential criminal activity in their own neighborhood.
The Crime-Free Multi-Housing Initiative seeks to build trust and encourage residents in apartment communities to share information about criminal activity, anonymously if need be.
