Cities all over Gwinnett County have been undergoing renovation. However, one city in particular has developed its downtown area dramatically in recent years: Duluth. Downtown Duluth is not as large as some of the other cities north of Atlanta, but its recent downtown refurbishment has made it the center of attention for new homeowners. From the addition of a bakery and some local breweries to the shiny new location of the Duluth branch of the Gwinnett County Public Library, let’s take a look at what this humble little city center has to offer:
If you are looking for somewhere to eat, Downtown Duluth has you covered. There has been a plethora of new restaurants opened in the downtown area with a wide range of different cuisines. If you are looking for some delicious comfort food, look no further than Dreamland BBQ. If you want something fresh and flavorful, then you should check out Pure Taqueria. If you are looking for some classic Italian food, then go to O4W Pizza. If none of that fits your taste and you want and upscale unique dining experience, then you should head over to Falling Rabbit.
In addition to new restaurants, there are a few new breweries. Last but certainly not least, the desserts. Downtown Duluth is home to some of the best sweets shops such as Simply Done Donuts, Crave Pie Studio and Chocolatier.
Food and drink isn’t the only thing Duluth has to offer. They have a few home decor stores, stunning art studios, a bank and a quaint little theater. In addition to all that, there is the new and improved library branch. This new branch is twice as big as the old one and has several exciting and innovative things to offer. Along with an expansive selection of books for all ages, there are also workshops for kids and teens, computers with interactive and educational games, and even a lab where you can 3D print some of the coolest sculptures.
If you are looking to live near this updated downtown, there is plenty of new development within walking distance of the city’s center. There has been the addition of new townhomes all around Downtown Duluth as well as the creation of The District. The District is its own little utopia with housing, shops, parking and more, all within walking distance of downtown. And if you aren’t looking to stay there for a long time and just want to check it out for a night or two, then you can stay at the brand new Mariott hotel. Downtown Duluth really is an amazing sight to see!
