Homemade & Handcrafted Sangria

The experts at Beverage SuperStore can help you to find the perfect recipe for making your own homemade version of the Spanish delight known as Sangria. Sangria has existed in various forms for over 2,000 years. It normally consists of red wine, chopped fruit, a sweetener, and a small amount of added brandy or cognac.

The basic formula for any successful sangria will be a bottle (750ml) of wine (sparkling or still; Rose’, red, or white.) At least  cup of a sweet liqueur (such as triple sec, brandy, or cognac are the most popular) or schnapps (flavored ones are great additions!) Then the blending begins with additions of fresh fruit.  The fresher the better, maybe a little on the riper side, and always freeze it before adding it into the pitcher. This will serve many functions, including chilling the sangria without watering it down with ice, and for presentation. For more color add garnishes like basil, mint, jalapenos, rosemary, ginger, or even cucumbers.

If you’re looking for a special and unique drink this spring, the folks at Beverage SuperStore suggest the following Sangria Recipe with a “southern flair”, the Georgia Peach Blush Sangria! It’s a fresh take on homemade and handcrafted Sangria, sure to impress and please your guests.
