Nearly seventy years after being chartered as Truett McConnell College, the institution graduated to the academic status of university this year announcing the news at spring commencement and celebrating the first class to graduate under the new university title.
The change is just the latest in advancements and growth at Truett McConnell and will bring additional programs and possibilities to its students.
Located in northeast Georgia, Truett McConnell University (TMU) is a private Christian liberal arts and sciences school affiliated with the Georgia Baptist Convention. The university is dedicated to merging the finest liberal arts education with a Biblically-centered curriculum to meet the growing demands for Christian professionals.

TMU offers a wide array of undergraduate programs including Biology, Business Administration, Christian Studies, Criminal Justice, Education, English, Exercise Science, History, Music, Nursing, Psychology and World Missions with more planned.
Truett McConnells new university status has shaped a strategic plan that includes additional undergraduate programs as well as new graduate programs, adding to the current Master of Arts in Theology. The additional graduate degree programs already approved by the faculty include Master of Science in Biology, Master of Business Administration, Master of Arts in Professional Counseling, Master of Arts in Missiology and Master of Education, all of which need approval by SACSCOS [Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges].
In addition to serving residential students, online students, and graduate students, TMU has the states largest number of dual enrolled high school students.
