Lawrenceville Celebrates Independence Day with Music and Fireworks

The City of Lawrenceville and United Community Bank will celebrate Independence Day with a host of musical talent that kicks off Friday, June 30th with the Summer Concert Series KICKS Country Night, then continues on Monday, July 3rd with the 12th annual PRELUDE celebration to honor Americas Day of Liberty. These FREE events will be held, rain or shine, on the Lawrenceville Lawn at 210 Luckie Street, the Historic Downtown Square.

FRIDAY NIGHT (June 30) Powered by Kicks 101.5, the KICKS Country Night party will start at 7pm with live performances by country music artists Dry Gulch, Broken Whisky Glass, and John Rhey. Bringing Nashville to Lawrenceville, Broken Whisky Glass focuses on old school country and southern rock, while John Rhey and Dry Gulch feature traditional country roots intermingled with the sounds of popular modern country.

MONDAY NIGHT (July 3)PRELUDE will kick off at 5pm with widespread hits from DJ Suspense, followed by live stage performances from breakthrough country artist Zach Seabaugh, as well as the popular soul band R&B, Inc. While the live performances are taking place, attendees can enjoy a kids activity zone with inflatables, a variety of food trucks to experience, and beer and wine available for purchase from McCrays Tavern – all followed by a stunning fireworks display to conclude the evening of fun for the whole family!

Zach Seabaugh is a country singer-songwriter from Marietta. He was a Season 9 member of Team Blake on The Voice, placing fifth in the overall competition. Since then, he has been touring and performing with several well-known artists such as Jennifer Nettles and Radney Foster. Headlining PRELUDE with easy listening music from a 9 piece R&B and Soul band from Atlanta is R&B, Inc. Lead by vocalist Jeff Lockett, the band has been entertaining audiences for over five decades and takes pride in delivering feel good music to the community.

Come early… Bring your chairs or blankets, pack a picnic dinner, discover a new favorite food truck meal, or have dinner at one of the incredible restaurants on the Square, then enjoy the short 1-block walk down to the Lawn before the music begins! Beer and wine will be available for purchase on-site at the concert from McCray’s Tavern, but no outside alcohol will be allowed.

As always, plenty of free parking will be available throughout the Downtown District and concert goers should bring lawn chairs or blankets; however, no grills, open flames or pets will be allowed in the park. Additionally, VIP tables are available for $65 by calling 678.226.2639.
