The Miss & Mr. Suwanee Jeans & T-Shirt Pageant has been raising money, in a casual and fun way, on behalf of North Gwinnett High School’s Relay For Life Team, since 2010. In our 8th pageant year in 2018, MSP has raised over $80,000+ with the proceeds going to the American Cancer Society. MSP titleholders have also logged over 12,000+ hours of volunteer and community service with many earning multiple Presidential Volunteer Service Awards from the White House for their contributions.
MSP titleholders support many organizations through our volunteer efforts such as Georgia Special Olympics, Kids with Cancer benefits, clean up days for the City of Sugar Hill, Wreaths Across America, NGHS PINK OUT Night and has adopted the Georgia Miss Amazing Pageant (for girls and women with special needs) as their sister pageant in 2017/18 just to name a few. One of the annual highlights for the MSP titleholders is the honor of meeting Governor Nathan Deal at the capital building and then touring the capital museum(s).
In 2017 MSP added a Survivor Royalty category inviting cancer survivors to become part of the MSP family. We are so honored to have two amazing cancer survivors: Xochilt Rivera (our 2017 Survivor Royalty Queen) and Ronda Petrin (our Survivor Royalty Ambassador for 2017) who are truly inspirational women who have shared their stories of fighting and surviving cancer with us and our community; they truly are pillars of strength and have overcome unbelievable odds to be here today.
