Northeast Georgia Health System (NGHS) has been recognized as one of the nation’s Most Wired Hospitals and Health Systems of 2017, according to data released by the American Hospital Association. The Association announced the results of the 2017 Most Wired Survey in the July issue of Hospitals & Health Networks magazine, and NGHS is recognized as a Most Wired health system for the fifth time.
NGHS is one of six health systems in Georgia to be named Most Wired. Most Wired health systems like NGHS meet a set of rigorous criteria and experience tremendous gains in patient care and efficiency by implementing information technology (IT) strategies essential for delivering health care of the future. Most Wired health systems capitalize on IT for the four critical areas of infrastructure, business processes, clinical quality and safety (inpatient and outpatient), and clinical integration (ambulatory, physician, community). According to the survey, Most Wired hospitals are using smart phones, telehealth and remote monitoring to create more ways for patients to access health care services and capture health information. They are also transferring care delivery with knowledge gained from data and analytics.
