Celebrating 28 years of service as a pioneer of the day-spa industry, Natural Body Spa and Shop, was created in 1989 by Cici Coffee as a way to provide resort quality services at day spa prices to customers wanting to better their weekly wellness routine. The Snellville location is a 2015 Best of Gwinnett winner and holds a gold classification for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, or L.E.E.D., certified under the U.S. Green Building Council. The LEED certification is among the highest in the land for eco-friendly and sustainability building and interior construction.
Originally started as a retail store offering all natural, non-animal tested skin and body care products including aromatherapy. The store has evolved into an all-in-one holistic spa. Customers can choose from services such as massages, facials, waxing and more. In addition to its own Natural Body Spa line, the store carries popular brands such as Eminence, AVEDA, and Bumble and Bumble haircare products.
“Wellness is a process,” Coffee says. “We want to offer resort quality at day-spa prices so that Instead of being a gift, or a self-indulgence, we want to be incorporated as a part of your weekly wellness routine.”
Coffee’s passion for wellness does not just pertain to the mind and body, Coffee also has a passion for wellness of the earth and it is showcased throughout her stores. As a founder of the Green Spa Network, Coffee has worked to help create and maintain eco-friendly spas around the South East.
Everything in her spas is geared toward her vision of eco-friendly excellence. The floors in the treatment areas are made of recycled rubber, low VOC paint, sustainable cabinetry and shelving. In addition, therapists and spa employees use recycled paper, soy ink, energy star rated appliances, non-toxic cleaning supplies and low energy efficient lighting utilizing LED fluorescent light bulbs. Customers walking in to Natural Body Spa and Shop, can expect to see repurposed and recycled materials used all throughout the store.
“We have gorgeous antique floors that are made up of old wood from a barn up in Alpharetta,” says Coffee. “Our lights are all art pieces that are made of handmade hand paper.”
Coffee has been focusing on expanding and maintaining her business. Now, with 8 spa locations in the metro Atlanta area, several in Chattanooga, one in Jacksonville, and 4 newly designed nail bars called 10TEN. The zen-like nail salon gives customers an a la carte menu of nail services as well as three non-toxic pedicure and manicures. Snellville is one of four locations out of 15 that has the 10TEN nail salon.
