What a fantastic weekend for the Five Forks Scholars Bowl team. We placed 2nd at the PAGE State Championship in Milledgeville on Saturday. We lost to Chamblee Magnet School in the Final after going undefeated to that point. We dug a hole for ourselves on the first few questions of the final game, but mounted a furious comeback at the end by answering the final three questions plus ALL of the multi-part bonus questions. Who knows what might have happened had there been just one more question!
?The PAGE Regionals (January 9th) began with 158 teams from across the state. As you we recall, we won our Region by going undefeated and beating Duluth in the final. The Regionals whittled down the number of teams to 24 who traveled to Milledgeville. On the way to the championship game, we defeated these teams from around the state of Georgia. In order by round, they are Evans MS from Newnan, Oglethorpe County MS, Hightower MS from Marietta, Mount de Sales Academy from Macon, Oglethorpe Charter School near Savannah, and Aaron Cohn MS out of Columbus. During two of these matches we were behind and had to come back and win. Our kids were tremendous in the clutch on this particular Saturday.
