United Community Bank recently recognized employees for their outstanding performance in meeting customers’ needs throughout the first quarter of 2017. This acknowledgement is part of the bank’s quarterly Sales and Service Champion program.
The following individuals and team were recognized as top producers in their respective areas for the first quarter of 2017:
- Mortgage: Adam Kernen
Kernen is based in Charleston, S.C.
- Investments/Advisory Services: Jay Burkett
Burkett is based in Cleveland, Ga. but also serves the North Georgia region in Gainesville, Murrayville and Oakwood.
- Specialized Lending: Senior Care
The Senior Care lending team serves clients nationwide and is based in Birmingham, AL.
- Customer Derivatives: Shelia Stolorena
Stolorena is based in Lawrenceville, Ga.
Six branch teams were recognized for their superior customer service, profitability and growth performance in the first quarter. The top performing teams are located in the following cities: Atlanta, Ga. (Embry Hills); Stockbridge, Ga.; Kingston Tenn.; Mt. Pleasant, S.C. (Park West); Spartanburg, S.C. (West St. John St.); and Greenville, S.C. (Augusta St.).
United also acknowledged an employee and a branch team for their dedication to support and operational excellence respectively. Sharon Poteete, Bank Operations Supervisor, was recognized with the Support Staff award for her selfless attitude and willingness to assist other support areas with her time and expertise. The Laurens, S.C. (Church Street) branch team received the Operational Excellence Award, besting all other branch locations for consistent, high quality operational performance.

The individuals and teams were honored on April 19, 2017 at a Sales and Service Champion luncheon in Hiawassee, Ga. Additionally, one champion was randomly selected from the group to award a $500 donation to a charity of their choice within their community. This quarter’s winner was the Senior Care Lending team, which selected Smile-A-Mile. Smile-A-Mile helps those in Alabama who are affected by childhood cancer thrive during treatment and the years beyond.
