Since 1997, Roger has taught retirement planning at local Gwinnett colleges, and since 1998 he’s hosted an educational radio program, “Your Green”, on 970AM. In addition to his passion for educating, Roger also has made his own ongoing continuing education a priority to ensure he can better serve his community. He holds a Master of Science in Financial Services (MSFS), the Certified Financial PlannerTM (CFP_), Retirement Income Certified Professional (RICP_), and the Accredited Estate Planner (AEP), amongst other professional designations. He has earned graduate level/professional certificates in Pensions and Executive Compensation, Financial Asset Management, and Applied Behavioral Finance. Much more importantly, he has 30 years of ongoing continuing education, reading, research and hands-on work with thousands of clients to further grow and sharpen his knowledge.
GFR and Roger have a long history of achievement, starting with the Rookie of the Year at the start of his career; being a Barron’s Magazine Top Independent Advisor many times since 2007; being one of five selected nationally in 2009 to the Advisor Hall of Fame in Research Magazine; being named Gwinnett Chamber’s Small Business of the Year in late 2016, as well as a 2014-2016 Best of Gwinnett winner – and many other awards and accolades in between._ That success, says Green, is due to the support, dedication, and service focus of the entire staff; led by his wife, Laura, the firm’s chief operating officer for the past 17 years.
Green, who celebrates his 50th birthday this year, is equally proud of his company’s record of giving back to the community, and the role they play in helping others to do the same. In September, the GFR 15th charity golf classic raised over $50,000 for charity._ Roger and GFR also support a range of Gwinnett non-profits and community causes._ “We are focused on truly helping people,” says Green. “I believe that comes through in all we do, and we are truly here to help.”
