Concord Hospitality has announced the commitment to build a 300-room, full-service Marriott hotel adjacent to the Infinite Energy Center complex. A Courtyard by Marriott and an Embassy Suites are also being built nearby. These hotels are part of a master plan to attract up to $1 billion in new development in the complex
surrounding the Infinite Energy Center.
Preston Williams, CEO of the Gwinnett Convention and Visitors Bureau and the Infinite Energy Center, says, "The $80 million hotel is being funded entirely by Concord Hospitality and their investors, not with taxpayer dollars. In addition to jobs and the financial benefit from tourism, an estimated $100 million in new tax revenue will be paid into both state and county coffers over the thirty year land lease."
The specifics are still in the works for this entertainment district, and Williams is garnering interest from private developers to make Gwinnett a destination by expanding dining, entertainment, and these event facilities.
