NGHS Marching Band Takes Corky Kell

At the Corky Kell Classic on Saturday, August 29th, the North Gwinnett High School Bulldog Marching Band had their first performance for the 2017-2018 school year! Despite the Bulldogs’ narrow loss to the Walton Raiders with a score of 31-28, the Bulldog Marching Band debuted their half-time show program, “Catch Me If You Can”, which is centered around catching a runaway spy and includes movements from the Inception and Bourne films.

With Minoo Dixon (12), Sarah Kim (11), Max Toomey (12), and Ruby Yoo (12) being the drum majors and “Catch Me If You Can” being the new show theme, the Bulldog Marching Band is off to a great start this season! The members of the marching band likewise share this enthusiasm as well.

Dhara Panchal, a clarinet player who is a senior this year, is “super excited for the show this year because it has a really interesting concept” and she “can’t wait to see what is to come” for the marching band and color guard performances during the new season.

This excitement was also shared by Evan Roussey, also a senior, who currently plays trombone for both the marching band and the North Gwinnett Jazz Band, with him stating, “There’s a culture shift and we have a lot of potential for our performances and future competitions this season.” Therefore, it’s no surprise that the marching band is one of the many highlights at NGHS football games.
